Let's Dance!

If you're just checking in, my current passion is painting Autumn Trees. Each of their distinctive personalities evolving on the paper has been surprising and entertaining. Their response to this season of change is as varied as we are in our response to the events in our lives. This one, just wants to dance!

Going Home

Going Home
Watercolor, 7x10
Dreamscaping With June Rollins®
This little tree, certain and unafraid, is going home.

I googled the title that came to me and discovered it was the name of a hymn with an interesting origin. Many people assume the tune was always an African American spiritual that was adapted to the symphony, but in this case, the reverse is true. Going Home origin and lyrics

Connected To The Source

Connected To The Source
Dreamscaping With June Rollins®
I once asked a friend who at one time in her life had been very, financially wealthy,

"What's it like to be able to buy anything you want?"

She said, "Having money makes everything more fun, but life still happens."

I thought of what she had said, as this tree was emerging, looking so grounded and connected to a Life-Giving Source that gave it the freedom to live fully present in all those unexpected, always-changing, life-happening moments...

Leaving Room For...

Something More To Say.

I've been researching trees since they are my current painting passion. Why do leaves change color in Autumn? This little watercolor tree wanted to make sure we knew the facts. She must have been a former teacher ;)

Being Transformed

These little trees are quite fun with their unpredictability and surprising messages. I try to not interfere  as paint & water mingle on paper. Love what pigment, water and paper create on their own.

I keep my mind open to receive any messages. This one with that wonderful soft-edged background with a slight diagonal upwards movement that was not intentional on my part seemed to depict energy.

Thus the title:

Not Her First Rodeo

She's done this before. Knows what to expect. Has this autumn thing down. Understands the subtleties of mingling colors and soft edges…

An elegant, confident little tree easing gracefully into being….
